When the great Dow is forgotten,
goodness and piety appear.
When the body's intelligence declines,
cleverness and knowledge step forth.
When there is no peace in the family,
filial piety begins.
When the country falls into choas,
patriotism is born.
I leave it to you to contemplate this randomly selected passage from the Tao Te Ching. By the time you've reconciled these paradoxical words of wisdom, this little economic disruption will be nothing more than a distant memory.
